About Third Coast Sports Foundation

Third Coast Sports Foundation is a non-profit ministry focused on reaching today's generation for Christ through sports and music.

Third Coast Sports Foundation has partnered with over 60 professional sports teams to organize, promote and execute successful events that seek to provide churches with opportunities for outreach and churchwide fellowship.

Third Coast Sports Foundation is best known for the "Faith Day" events they've held with Major League Baseball teams including the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros, L.A. Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers and Washington Nationals.

Third Coast Sports Foundation events marry a Christian concert with a professional sporting event. Steven Curtis Chapman, MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, Matthew West, BarlowGirl, Hawk Nelson and Natalie Grant are among the national recording artists who have performed at Third Coast Sports Foundation events.

Third Coast Sports Foundation gives Christian athletes a platform to share about their personal faith in Christ. At each event one of the home team's players will give a personal testimony of how God has worked in his life. John Smoltz of the Atlanta Braves, Lance Berkman of the Houston Astros and Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers are just a few of the athletes who have spoken at Third Coast Sports Foundation events.

Third Coast Sports Foundation makes free tickets available in each city to ministries who seek to serve underprivileged children.

Third Coast Sports Foundation is led by a board of directors including:

Jerry Cover
R.A. Dickey
Barry Elkins
Lynn Golden

Third Coast Sports Foundation has been blessed to hear about dozens of success stories from churches who have used events to reach out to people that didn't have a church home. Here are just a few:

A 17-year-old in Las Vegas left the church two years earlier after getting his girlfriend pregnant and dropping out of high school. He felt like he didn't belong in the church. He came back to the church after being invited to a Gladiators arena football game and being touched by what Matthew West had to say during his concert.

A couple in Hendersonville, Tennessee didn't have a church home. They were invited to a Nashville Sounds game where they were first introduced to the leadership and several families that were members of an area congregation. They were impressed and started coming to services and participating in other activities. They got so involved that they started a ministry for parents with special needs children. At last check there were 10 other families with special needs children, some without any church background, that had started attending that congregation.

A 10-year-old boy that wasn't involved in church was invited by one of his friends to come to Faith Night. While he was there he picked up a camouflaged Heart of the Outdoors Bible and took it home to his dad because he knew he liked to hunt and fish. When the boy gave the Bible to his dad, his dad started crying. He told the boy he hadn't read the Bible in 20 years. that dad recommitted his life to the Lord and started taking that boy to church services and activities.

Third Coast Sports Foundation hopes to continue to organize events for many years to come with God's leading and blessing. Open doors exist with multiple teams in Major League Baseball, the NFL, the NBA, the MLS and the NHL.

1 Corinthians 9:22 sums up the core mission of Third Coast Sports:

I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.
